The Ingredients Behind BennyBee Face Cream
Discover why we combine calendula, chamomile, Manuka honey, apricot kernel oil and shea butter in our small-batch Face Cream.

A face cream can be simple without being basic.
When we developed BennyBee Face Cream, we wanted a moisturizer that felt comfortable on the face while giving us room to use some of the ingredients we genuinely wanted in our own skin care: apricot kernel oil infused with calendula and chamomile, Manuka honey, and shea butter.
Instead of building the formula around a long list of trendy ingredients, we focused on a smaller group, with each one having a reason to be there.
Calendula-Infused Apricot Kernel Oil
Calendula is one of the botanicals at the center of BennyBee skin care.
For our Face Cream, calendula is slowly infused into apricot kernel oil before that infused oil becomes part of the finished cream.
Apricot kernel oil itself is an emollient. It helps soften and condition the skin and contributes to the smooth feel of the cream.
The result is an ingredient that gives us both the conditioning properties of a plant oil and the botanical character of calendula.
Chamomile-Infused Apricot Kernel Oil
We didn't stop with one infusion.
Our Face Cream also contains chamomile-infused apricot kernel oil, prepared separately from the calendula infusion. That's why we describe the formula as containing two botanical-infused oils rather than simply adding a botanical name to the label.
Chamomile has a long history of use in skin-care preparations, particularly in products intended to feel gentle and soothing.
Together, calendula and chamomile form the botanical foundation of the cream.
Manuka Honey
This is probably the ingredient that gives our Face Cream its most distinctive identity.
Honey is a humectant, meaning it can attract and retain water. That makes it especially interesting in a moisturizer, where hydration is one of the main goals.
We chose Manuka honey specifically rather than ordinary honey.
In our formula, Manuka honey complements the oils and butter by bringing its humectant properties to the cream.
Shea Butter
Shea butter is one of the ingredients that connects the Face Cream to the rest of BennyBee.
It's rich in fatty acids and works as an emollient, helping soften the skin and supporting the cream's conditioning feel.
But there's an important difference here.
We didn't want our Face Cream to simply feel like our richer Body Cream applied to the face. So shea butter is used more carefully in the facial formula, allowing us to keep its conditioning benefits while maintaining a lighter overall feel.
Hydration Needs More Than Oil
There's another part of the formula that isn't as glamorous in a photograph but matters considerably: water and glycerin.
Glycerin is another humectant. It helps attract and hold water, while the oils and shea butter provide emollience and conditioning.
That combination is one of the reasons we make an actual emulsified face cream rather than simply blending several oils together.
You get water-based hydration, humectants, botanical oils and butter in one formula.
What It Means for Your Skin
The formula brings together ingredients that work in different ways.
Glycerin and Manuka honey help support hydration, while apricot kernel oil and shea butter help soften and condition the skin. Calendula and chamomile infusions bring the botanical character at the heart of the formula.
The result is a face cream designed to leave skin feeling hydrated, softer and comfortably conditioned without turning your routine into something complicated.
Why We Like It at Night
Our favorite time to use BennyBee Face Cream is at night, after cleansing.
Massage a small amount over the face and neck as the final moisturizing step in your routine. The combination of humectants, botanical-infused apricot oil and shea butter makes it an easy way to give freshly cleansed skin hydration and conditioning before bed.
No complicated routine required.
A Face Cream With a Purpose
For us, the interesting part isn't having the longest ingredient list.
It's having ingredients we can explain.
Calendula. Chamomile. Manuka honey. Apricot kernel oil. Shea butter.
Each contributes something different to the formula, and together they create the kind of face cream we wanted BennyBee to have: botanical, moisturizing, thoughtfully formulated, and comfortable enough to become part of an everyday routine.
Small batch. Purposeful ingredients. BennyBee.
