Calendula, chamomile, apricot kernel oil, olive oil, shea butter and Manuka honey are some of the ingredients that shape BennyBee formulas.
When it makes sense, we create our own botanical infusions in small batches, slowly infusing dried botanicals into selected oils before filtering them for use in our products.
It takes longer. We think it is worth doing.
Beeswax gives our balms structure and staying power. Shea butter brings rich emollience. Plant oils provide glide and conditioning. Emulsifiers allow oil and water to become a stable cream. Vitamin E helps protect oils from oxidation.
Even ingredients customers may not recognize have a purpose. We would rather explain why an ingredient is there than pretend a formula is better simply because its ingredient list is shorter.
Water-based skin care needs responsible preservation. Once water enters a formula, microorganisms can grow if the product is not adequately protected. That is why our creams use an appropriate cosmetic preservative.
We do not believe "preservative-free" is automatically better. For a water-based product, proper preservation is part of responsible formulation.
We love botanical ingredients, but "natural" does not automatically mean better or safer, and a scientific-sounding ingredient name does not automatically make something harmful.
Our approach is simpler: understand the ingredient, understand its purpose, and formulate thoughtfully.
