Coconut Oil
A quick-melting oil that gives balm clean slip and balanced body.
Coconut oil is pressed from the white kernel of Cocos nucifera, the coconut palm. In cosmetics, it is valued less for tropical mood and more for texture: it melts quickly, spreads easily, and helps a balm glide across lips with a smooth first swipe.
Its chemistry is unusual for a plant oil. Coconut oil is mostly saturated triglycerides and is especially known for lauric acid, a 12-carbon fatty acid that makes coconut oil part of the “lauric oils” family. That high saturated-fat profile gives it a different feel and stability story than many softer liquid seed oils.

Coconut oil softens readily on contact, helping the balm move from firm stick to smooth swipe quickly.

It brings a light, easy glide that complements the richer cushion of butters and the polished sheen of castor oil.
